HIGH POINT, N.C. – Southern Wesleyan University's Peyton Shelton and Barton College's Micah Clemons have been named the Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for meets held Jan. 10 - Jan. 14 , the Conference announced today.
Shelton, a freshman from Columbus, Ind. opened up his indoor season this weekend in Johnson City, Tenn. at the ETSU Invitational with strong performances in both the mile and 3000 meter run. Shelton led the Warriors in the mile with a time of 4.44.82 to capture a 13th place finish and posted a time of 9:16.77 in the 3000 meters for a 20th place finish. Shelton ranks sixth in the conference in the mile and fifth in the 3000 meters.
Barton junior Micah Clemons won the men's weight throw at the JDL January College Kick-off with a mark of 16.81m (55'2") while finishing second in the shot put with a mark of 14.62m (47'11.75") to lead the Bulldogs at the JDL January College Kick-off. Clemons leads the conference in both the shot put and weight throw, holding the number one spot on the conference charts. Clemons was an all-region honoree last year in both events while finishing second (shot put) and weight throw (third) at the Conference Carolinas Championship last year.

Braidon Miller (King) - 16.26m in weight throw, 2nd place; 14.35m in shot put, 3rd place
Jason Saintizaire (Lees-McRae) - 1.95m in high jump, 4th place
Keuntrai Robinson (Southern Wesleyan) - 12.93m in shot put, 9th place; 14.28m in weight throw, 8th place
