Conference Carolinas Names 2018-19 Spring Scholar Athletes of the Year - Men's Golf

High Point, N.C.Conference Carolinas is proud to announce the 2019 Spring Scholar Athletes of the Year, as voted on by the Student-Athlete Affairs Committee. This prestigious award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each sport for recognition of their outstanding performance both on the field and in the classroom.

Candidates are submitted by member institutions for each of the conference’s twenty-three sponsored sports. To be considered for the honor, the student-athlete must have been named Academic All-Conference, which entails having attended their member institution for at least one year and having reached junior or senior standing with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher on a 4-point scale. Scholar Athletes of the Year must also be represented on their sport’s First, Second, or Third All-Conference Team, the rosters of which are chosen by coaches at the end of each playing season.  This spring's class of honorees holds an impressive average GPA of 3.80.  
 
 
 
Men's Golf Award Winner
Robert Wilkinson - King University 

Robert Wilkinson wrapped up a stellar senior year with a third place finish at the Conference Carolinas Championship this season, earning him second team All-Conference Carolinas for the first time in his career. Graduating Magna Cum Laude with a 3.87 GPA, Wilkinson has been named to the President's Honor Roll seven times in his pursuit of a Business Finance and Management degree. The senior from Dundas, Canada has demonstrated high levels of excellence academically and athletically this spring, leading the Tornados with a stroke average of 73.21, four top ten finishes, two top five finishes, and carding his season low round of 69 five times.
